Online Dentistry: Information and FAQ
Also known as telehealth or telemedicine, teledentistry at Griffith Family Dental is an online service that connects you with one of our licensed dentists using secure video and audio conferencing. In the visit, you can see your dentist face-to-face using video on your phone or computer.
Yes!
During COVID-19 insurers have relaxed restrictions and increased availability for telehealth coverage. Your medical insurance will typically cover these virtual visits, even with dentists! Many are also waiving patient payment responsibility so it does not usually cost our patients out-of-pocket.
This also preserves your dental insurance yearly amount for in-office treatment and procedures. If you would like to pay out of pocket or utilize your dental insurance instead, please let us know at time of booking.

Before or during your visit, you can send us photos, x-rays, videos, etc. if they would help us diagnose and evaluate your issue. In the call itself, Dr. Amy can instruct you how to take the best photos or even look directly in a video visit.
Dr. Amy will ask the same questions that she would during an in-person visit to help diagnose and determine next steps. She can make recommendations, evaluate urgency, and even prescribe antibiotics, if indicated.
Before your appointment we ask that you complete our Teledentistry Consent Form and if you’re a new patient, please also complete our new patient intake.
